India vs South Africa T20 Series 2022
BCCI, the governing body for Indian cricket, has confirmed that they will welcome South Africa in June 2022 to host a bilateral series with 5 T20 matches. The IPL will be over for cricket fans as South Africa will visit India shortly after the IPL. All five matches will be played at the same venues: Vizag, Rajkot and Chennai.
The India vs South Africa T20 Series will start on June 9 2022. The first match will be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk in Chennai. M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore will host the second T20 on June 12 2022. The third T20I will be at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur on June 14 2022. Next, both teams will travel to Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium Rajkot for their 4th T20 on June 15 2022. Finally, the series will end at Feroz Shah Kotla (Delhi) on June 19 2022.
The T20 World Cup 2022 will be held in Australia. It is important to prepare for this tournament by watching the T20 series between South and India. Rohit Sharma will be the team’s captain, while Temba Bavuma (South Africa) will be under Mark Boucher’s direction. South Africa is currently in 5th place in the ICC T20 Team Ranking. India is at the top of the list at 4th.
It’s interesting to note that India hosted their first T20 international match against South Africa on December 1, 2006. India beat South Africa by six wickets, and Dinesh Karthik was named Man of the Match. Ind vs SA in T20 has been contested on 15 occasions. India won 9 of the T20 matches, while South Africa took victory six times. This shows that India has a higher winning percentage and is the winner in T20 international.
The Indian team has participated in the 159 T20I international matches, winning 101 matches and losing 51 T20I. On the other hand, South Africa contested 147 T20I, where they won 85 matches while losing 60. South Africa has not been able to reach the final of the T20I World Cup, while India became the T20 World Champions. It will be interesting to see how the two teams perform in June.
